Cristie Scott is a committed visual arts administrator and nonprofit professional with years of experience in the realms of curation, exhibition design, installation, arts education and organizational management for public, nonprofit and educational institutions.
As Exhibition Center Manager for the Idyllwild Arts Academy & Summer Program, Cristie oversaw the administrative and curatorial responsibilities of a 1300 square foot gallery space and year-round exhibition program. From 2018-2024, she installed upwards of 60 shows featuring the work of hundreds of talented students and contemporary artists. She also served as Visual Arts faculty and Assistant Chair, developing and implementing art foundations and senior seminar curriculum for high school students.
From 2014-2018, Cristie was Executive Director of the Durango Arts Center, a decades-old visual and performing arts hub housed in a converted car dealership in downtown Durango. In her capacity as director, she managed the staff, fundraising efforts, strategic planning, community advocacy and services for regional artists, such as micro-grants and residencies. Cristie also served on numerous boards and special cultural planning committees eight years with City of Durango’s Public Art Commission, as well as terms with Visit Durango, Durango Arts Center and Idyllwild Community Fund.
Cristie currently lives and works in her hometown of Durango, CO, where she is the Curator of Exhibitions and Educational Outreach for the Center of Southwest Studies at Fort Lewis College.
